TIDAL GANG RISE UP!
Well done Curtiss, this is just diabolical
We ned Blockchain Music distribution and streaming
You….are a great man !!!!!!! This brings tears to my eyes !!! Thank you my brotha â€
They need to bring back cds and Spotify better get it rt or its the End of streaming for them we will protest and win and this revolution will be televised period
Nic D and Connor Price is going to be killing spotify theyre comjng out with "Grouped" where your your own streaming service. Spotify days are numbered
These labels got the strong hold on artist and these streamjng services
Well made vid. Informative af
Love your content, it has positive energy, thanks for educating us!
Well done man! Something should be done collectively to flip the equation.
Rather a few fans that buy the record at band camp then streams that don't give anything
I always encourage people to take their music off streaming services too, that way my stuff is more likely to get plays đ
I like your stance. Keep doing your thing.
As a distrokid user I would love to be able to select the platforms that my music is being placed on
We shouldnât support companyâs that dont care about us
Let the big record labels alone use Spotify lets all post our music where we get payed
We are the ones posting links in our bio
Letâs create a new traffic direction
And stop giving them our hard work and investments to just be spit on đ€Šââïž
Right On!!
You should have one spotify song upload where you rap about how poorly Spotify pays and then explain where to find the rest of your music in the song đ
Bout to switch to ASCAP
They're just trying to stop true Kings/Queens from rising. These streaming platforms work with/for " Big Music" platforms right. If they allowed artists to continue to rise on there own (especially with the influx of "Conscious" don't be a fool music") they would lose not only having a purpose to break artists but also their platform to propel "Agenda Music". Think about it. đȘđŸđđđđđŸ
Major labels have big cuts in streaming services and saw that its a lot of independent artist who are making a living off of music and not signing deals with them so the best way to force them to sign is to cut their money short but that's what I believe
$50 for a shitty shirtđđđđđ
I'm completely down with removing music from Spotify. That being said, I get why they had that 1000 stream threshold to try and deter bot accounts and quantity over quality, and to give themselves some time to find fake/illegal uploads before people profit off doing something illegal. The main thing to be outraged about is how godawful the payouts are, and how the whole thing is just a money pit to build clout, and only above some arbitrary threshold does it build you an audience – and also, the nature of Spotify & playlisting celebrates mediocrity and sameness for the most part. Its very hard to be really really unique and to succeed on any streaming service, so its bad for the evolution of art.
I get the principles of taking your music off Spotify. My question is how does this improve the business? Why can't you have Spotify working AND do your other DIY stuff simultaneously.
You've eliminated a channel from your business and I don't see the benefit.
Agree with you totally.
You are a smart man, thank you for this post đŻđ„đ
Trickle down economics is definitely against my ethos and I will not use there service with my great songs released next year. This should be fixed by political legal means but those guys don't care about the creatives.
Yo ngl this video really got me thinking, I love music and will always have passion for it and will continue to release, but I just switched my major from music management to finance so that way after I graduate college I am able to get a job or sum in case my music isnât enough to make a livable wage
Thereâs also a lot of talk about Spotify, but can we talk about how YouTube pays the least amount of money for streams?
5:14 Tell your features to remove your name in DistroKid/Tunecore.
Until thenâŠitâs a billboard for your website.
When I stream I think I'm stilling copyrights.
your move makes sense. I've avoided spotify partially for that reason.
I stopped paying Distrokid well over a year ago, figuring they would just take all my music down– nope- it's still up. Ive been convinced to stop streaming my music for a while- been looking around for anyone who is fed up with streaming and looking in different directions … glad to find your video bro!
đąđąđąđąđąguys go to jail for stealing at a $ store. Spotify stole billions. Scottfree.
â€â€â€â€đđđđ
Folks need to learn that shit don't happen in a vacuum, it's a ripple effect
this is the way, live long and prosper
SPOTIFY AND OTHER STREAMINF SERVICES FIGURED THEY CONERED THE MARKET ….DOING WHAT RECORD COM,PANIES BEEN DOING BUT…WORST…SALUTE FOR THIS VIDEO
Corporate America is greedy. All companies r paying less. Its by design. They want to control everything đź
Did you remove your songs via the infringement form, via your distributor or were you able to use a delete button on your page?
curtis, im right there with you. the one thing i can't reconcile, and i would love your thoughts on this, is that spotify has introduced me to SO many new fans. and of my current fans, many of them are on spotify meaning they would be experiencing friction to hear my music in a separate place then they hear the rest of their favorite artists.
what are your thoughts on
1. losing the advantage of spotifys algorithm as a method for increasing artist visibility
2. reducing friction for the listener such that an artist isn't lost out to a listener due to inconvenience
great point! Well said!
Goated!
Respect
After watching your video, I made the conscious decision to remove my music from all streaming platforms and make it available only on my website. So far, I have made more money in one week from my website than I did in an entire year using streaming platforms. Thank you so much, bro Curtiss đđż
check my music out!
Man..
These companies are criminal. This is so crazy.
