2:57 "Now YouTube will stop tracking everything you do."
Are you really that naïve?
YouTube track everything WHATEVER settings you make. The only difference turning this setting off makes is that your activity log is NO LONGER VISIBLE TO YOU! It is all still being recorded and used by YouTube/Google for whatever nefarious purposes they choose.
🍌😤🙄
Thank you for this information.
Anyone who is just a bit concerned with security privacy will check those settings first and they are not hidden or hard to reach, just like any other app e.g. web browser having security/privacy setting. This video is really a fearmongering. For sure if you can see your watch history in YT – it is recorded somewhere right? It is just a matter of comfort (having a track history, likes etc) or supposed privacy…As usual, if the product is free – you're the product.
This is so stupid..
The only way to stop Google from seeing everything you do is DON'T USE YOUTUBE, DON'T USE GMAIL, DON'T USE ANY GOOGLE SERVICE
You use Google, they will track everything you do on it, no matter what supposed "privacy" settings you change. Simple as that.
UBlock Helps allot
Thanks for the info friend…
I doubt this will stop Google from tracking your Youtube activity. I suspect all it will do is hide the fact they are still tracking the info by not using it to make recommendations directly to you. They likely still sell the info to data brokers or any 3rd party willing to pay and you may will likely never know it was Google who gave them the info. All you're really doing it making it so that Youtube doesn't give you any good recommendations.
when you block all ads this doesn't matter, I even go further and block all sponsor content using sponsor block, I like to keep my user activity
I am aware of this and actively use this to increase my own profile in ways that may suggest new videos that I would not have thought of. It can also be called a feature though it’s good to be aware
So now Google knows I watched this video. Oops!
Unfortunately turning history off won't work for me as quite often I'll use it as a reminder to watch a video later.
The only problem with this, is that having the type of content you like to watch popping up on your front page is sometimes a good thing. I will sometimes watch YT from another device that I don't sign onto google with, which means it's viewing the page as a visitor and it just shows a random range of junk, most of which I don't even care about. I'll scroll down the page and 90% of the videos I am entirely disinterested in. Then, when I get on my main PC or my phone which does have my google account signed on, a good third to half of the videos are relevant to the type of stuff I watch and there's lots of times I'll find interesting stuff that I woulda never knew existed otherwise. And besides, there's no adult content on Youtube, and I'm not gonna be looking up "how to make an explosive device" or anything like that so there's really nothing to dig up on me. If they really wanna root around me watching video game reactions, Nintendo lawsuit videos, the occasional conservative stuff, and a Christian preacher or two, by all means. If they really want to be bored to death looking through my history, lol. They surely have better things to do.
If you really wanted to watch some no-no stuff, do it on a device that does not have Google signed on at all, or make a fake Google account just for that device or something. Either way, even if you did do "sensitive" stuff, if it was breaking the law (like looking up how to make explosive devices or something), then law enforcement will just subpoena/get a warrant to get records from your ISP and they'll still find out.
WHERE IS THAT LINK YOU REFERED TO???? it is NOT in your description as you promised!!!!
Thanks for the info 👍
The problem with this is that without your history, YouTube shows junk videos of inane stuff. There's stuff for intelligent people, but it's hard to find, and it takes a lot to get good stuff in recommendations. YouTube loves to push the junk.
It's still being recorded anyways, it's just being stored somewhere on their end in some server somewhere.
You really think you can hide from little brother corpo? Both big brother and the little brother are watching your every move.

I checked those and I already had all those settings done, but thanks for the video.
This isn't really news; have you heard of HotJar? It's been around since 2014.
unfortunately, having ads forced on you online now so as well as TV is America's wet dream. Now we have to pay some billionaire parasites for the privilege of NOT being bombarded with crap no one is EVER interested in.
I just use invidious for anything risky that could trip the AI
They win..it's a battle we can't win
GOOD. i want Google to use my activity to put out better videos in my feed and I want the ads to have some relevance to my interests. So do not turn this setting off.
When I disable youtube history toggle youtube app says search for a video but when I turn back on the youtube history toggle back on all my content is back for some reason 🤔
Uh, yeah, that's called watch history
How do I find which email is associated with my main Google account? I have several emails.
